Odessa Film studio

Odessa Film Studio is the eldest studio on CIS territory. Since it was created the great number of the world famous directors and actors worked here, beginning with Alexander Dovzhenko and Sergey Eisenstein and concluding with Peter Todorovsky, Stanislas Govorukhin and Kira Muratova. Starting its history from the beginning of ХХ century studio passed through revolutions, World War II, Perestroyka and disintegration of USSR. More than 600 pictures were taken here for all the time, and a traditional emblem of film studio - sailing-vessel - became one of Odessa symbols.

The new stage of life of Odessa Film Studio has began in 2006, when due to combining efforts of the government and private investors the joint-stock company «Odessa Film Studio» was formed. After this the serious technical base update was conducted, the most modern survey equipment of leading world producers was bought in as well as the best in Ukraine modern assembling station of Avid Nitris, also repairs of present stages was started and building of 2 new is begun.

The Ukrainian and foreign audience already had an opportunity to meet the first products of the renewed Odessa Film Studio. In May, 2007 the premiere of military drama «Two and the War» took place, August, 30 of the same year was opened «At the river» - young Ukrainian director Eva Neyman`s drama which already had conquered plenty of prizes on different international film festivals.

Now studio works on a few features, among which «God`s Smile» by the known Russian director Vladimir Alenikov («The Drayman and the King» , «Adventures of Petrov and Vasechkin»), TV movie «Turquoise Ring», almost finished setup time of Kira Muratova`s new picture «Melody for the Barrel Organ»

Realizing that development of Film Studio as a competitive enterprise is impossible during the work only on the CIS market, new management conducts the search of foreign partners constantly, levitating interest to Ukrainian film industry for foreign investors. Carrying out searches of talented scenario writers and directors which will be able to remind the spectator about former traditions and to create the newest history of the Film Studio, in the films of which played Vysotskiy, Ruslanova, Smoktunovskiy, Churikova and yet enormous amount of the great actors.

Set production & stages

Total space of Odessa Film Studio is about 7 hectares. Studio is located in central part of Odessa at the Black Sea coast. At the present time there are 3 stages - 600, 432 and 240 square meters each. In 2009 construction of two new stages (1000 square meters each) is planned to be completed. Studio can offer nice shooting location on it's territory, as well as production complex, office space and set production facilities.

Own set manufactory department and great experience (more than 1500 sets for films based on novells of Agatha Cristies, A.Dumas , J.Vern) makes it possible to create interior of any complexity or reproduce massive historical scene of any period.

Also at the studio`s area we have wardrobe department with great number of dresses, military uniform and ammunition of XVII-XVIII centuries and World War II.

Cameras

We are offering a full range of up-to-date shooting equipment:

· Arricam Lite 35 mm, Arriflex 16 SR 3 HS, Sony HDW F 900 R with Sony HDW F 900 Recorder

· Two full sets of LDS Ultra-prime optics and full range of accessories for each camera

· LDS camera radio control system (up to 300 meters distance)

· Lighting equipment: Arri HMI, Arri TUNGSTEN, Kino Flo, Mini Flo, Dedolight with all necessary accessories

· Panther classic dollies, Galaxy crane and Sinedzhip crane.

Our team is on short hand terms with all technique so there is no need to take with you a lot of people overseas.

For shooting process the Film Studio can provide such items for rent:

20,000 military uniform items (related to Civil War, World War II and period of 1946-1990)

15,000 items of civil clothing (costumes and dresses)

700 headwear items (military and civil)

500 shoes items

7,000 items of props, drapery, antiques, musical instruments

400 furniture items

Truck ZIS-5, ricksha, german vehicles related to World War II period.

Postproduction and Editing

We provide modern sound recording and editing equipment, full complex of software for editing process.

With Avis DS Nitris and Avid Media Composer Adrenaline HD, mobile postproduction unit and digital data storage center Avid Media Unity we could offer full range of postproduction services of different complexity levels including special effects, image and data processing.

Also we're offering show-rooms and operating rooms

Recording studio is universal 800 cubic meters scoring stage with possibility of voice and sound looping synchronized with video sequence.
