On the 12th of May, simultaneously with the opening of the 63rd Cannes film festival the Ukrainian pavilion has started it work on the Film Market.
For the third time Ukrainian Cinema Foundation presents the newest Ukrainian cinematography at its own pavilion in the Village Internationale on the Boulevard Croisette. This year Ukrainian pavilion differed with the special interior. Traditional Ukrainian colors - red, black and white and typical elements of Ukrainian vyshyvankas were used in decoration.
The main target of the pavilion is representation nowadays Ukrainian films, active search and arrange of a new contacts. Series of business meetings aimed to promote Ukrainian films to the Film Markets of the different countries around the world were successfully held during pavilion work.
In the framework of the Film Market screenings of three Ukrainian films took place: "My widow's husband" by Leonid Horovetz (Olympia 7), "Dnipro" by Oleksandr Shapiro (Gray 1, Lerins 1) and "Three stories of Galicia" (Palais I, Gray 2) by Olga Onyskho and Sara Pharhat.
Beside this the visitors of the pavilion could become familiar with the classic and newest films of Ukrainian cinematograph via DVDs and Catalogue of Ukrainian films of 2009-2010.

Ukrainian Cinema Foundation was founded in October 2007 under the auspices of the International Charitable Fund "Ukraine 3000". The main targets of the Ukrainian Cinema Foundation are acquainting film professionals and audiences with the classical and newest Ukrainian films and promoting national cinema. The joint project of Foundation and "Nemiroff" company named "Ukrainian cinema it the Cannes Festival" successfully functions from 2007, and in its framework Cinema Foundation represents Ukrainian cinema in Cannes Festival.
