Very often great deal starts from a private initiative and activity of few people. By now Ukrainian Cinema Foundation is an ambitious project with a big potential.
The founder of Ukrainian Cinema foundation is the First Lady of Ukraine and Chairman of Supervisory Board Ukraine 3000 Foundation Kateryna Yushchenko.

It is my pleasure to greet all cinema fans, especially those who are interested in Ukrainian film. I hope that with the creation of "Ukrainian Cinema Foundation" and publication of this new catalogue will help the international community of cinematography to learn more about the masters of Ukrainian screen and contemporary actors.
We are proud of our great cinematographic traditions and heritage - the names of Olexander Dovzhenko, Serhiy Paradzhanov, Yuriy Illyenko, Kira Muratova and Roman Balayan have long ago entered the rolls of World Film Classics.Today we also have a great number of talented youth that has grown in a new, democratic and independent Ukraine. I am deeply convinced that Ukraine's centuries-old history and unique culture, as well as the present with its new and diverse opportunities, will inspire many young and talented Ukrainian film makers and actors.
Today we all are looking for common values and vision which are often brought to life through international cultural projects, including joint film making. Ukraine's natural beauty is truly picturesque and unique complete with stunning and diverse landscapes, and it's a country of open-minded people and great professionals.
I encourage foreign film makers and producers to explore the vast possibilities in which they can do business in Ukraine.
I wish you all much success and inspiration and many new wonderful films and projects!
Kateryna Yushchenko
The organization is headed by Andriy Khalpakhchi, who is also art-director of "Molodist" film festival.

Dear friends!
We are happy to present the Ukrainian Cinema Foundation, a non-governmental organization founded under the aegis of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Foundation. Its purpose is to promote the Ukrainian cinema in the world as wide as possible.
There are very many plans: promotion of films for participation in the international film festivals, participation in work of the film markets, search of distributors for distribution of films abroad, holding festivals and weeks of Ukrainian cinema in different countries of the world, restoration of copies of the classic films, issue of DVDs, promo materials; training of young filmmakers, initiation of co-production etc.
An annual catalogue is a kind of visiting card of the Ukrainian cinema. We hope that it will help deliver information about our film production to the wide circle of professionals and adherents of the film art.
We are open to cooperation with our colleagues and are very thankful to our partners for the support and assistance.
Andriy Khalpakhchi
